The GAVI Alliance, whose mission is to save children’s lives and protect people’s health by increasing access to immunisation in poor countries, announced on International Women’s Day that they would be supporting HPV vaccine programmes in three low-income countries (Rwanda, Uganda and Uzbekistan).
These new programmes will aim to protect 1.5 million girls against the cause of cervical cancer.
