Australian teenage boys will be the first boys in the world to receive the HPV vaccine for free as part of Australia’s national immunization program.  Since implementing the vaccine program for girls in 2007, Australia has seen a significant drop in the number of HPV infections. Vaccinating boys is expected to benefit women as well, since immune males will no longer pass the virus between partners.
